Local and Regional Publishing Opportunities: Please let me know if any of these links are broken. Things are changing at a too-rapid pace these days. Also, if you know of a publishing opp that I should be sharing here, let me know! Shoot me an email at thebaltimorewriter@gmail.com.
Dragonfly (Howard County, MD): (https://hopeworksofhc.org/dragonfly/) – This publication is open for submissions during a limited season and publishes poetry, short fiction, visual arts, and music. See site for more details on when and how to submit. From their website: “It is not by chance that our arts magazine is entitled Dragonfly. The dragonfly has been a centuries old symbol for change, a special type of transformation, one wrought from crisis but ending in self-realization and a deeper understanding of the meaning of life.”
Endymion Press (Baltimore County, MD): This is actually my own small, independent press. Last year, I published my first title under Endymion, a book of poetry titled Vestiges of a Dark Night by Dylan Podson (https://a.co/d/4603Tgv). I created Endymion as a new home for my own works (still in the process of moving them over) and for local poets and writers who are looking for a home for their crafted words. I am always seeking new and established writers who wish to share their art with the world. If you have a work-in-process or a polished product, and you are interested in hearing more about how Endymion Press might be a home for you, send me a quick note through my Contact Page, and we can begin a conversation about working together!
Rainbow Vision (Howard County, MD): (https://sites.google.com/hcpss.org/hcpssrainbowconference/rainbow-vision?authuser=0) – This publication is open for a limited season and publishes short story, poetry, art work, song lyrics, personal narrative, essay, film/video, music/audio, photography, script/play/manuscript, drawing, and more. From their website: “Our magazine values diverse voices and welcomes work from all students. While we highlight LGBTQIA+ experiences, we also seek contributions that reflect a wide range of human experiences and emotions, so all are welcome to submit.”
