In the last couple of days, I have taken two 3-mile hikes on local trails. The first was at Cromwell Valley Park, a moderate hike that took me through pastures and along ridge lines, leading me in the early going to a nice, high view of the big dam and the surrounding reservoir. I took 50-60 photos, but these two really stand out to me.

This evening, we decided to do a sunset hike around Loch Raven Reservoir. We were pressed for time, as we didn’t want to get caught on the root-filled trail after sunset. So, I left my “big” camera home and snapped this one shot of the sun setting over the water.

As is typically the case when we walk at sunrise or sunset, we crossed paths with a half-dozen deer, all presumably losing their winter coats, and a few rabbits hopping about.
The sounds of the Spring Peepers was deafening, particularly toward the end of our hike along the shores of a cove, filled with marsh-like natural debris, closest to the road.
There’s just something about immersing yourself in nature, especially when these parks are literally minutes from home. It reminds me of the abundance of light and love held in each moment, always there for us to access them if we are willing to do so.
My wish is for light and love to find you today.
